T105P - Gas

I'm a new member with a silly question - can I use gas-less wire in this machine and just not connect a gas bottle? Not only does this thing seem seriously short of kick, but it consumes gas at an alarming rate.
If only I'd found this forum before I bought it I'm sure I'd have chosen more wisely,
Any advice most welcome....

It's only 105 amps, what sort of stuff are you trying to weld?
I love the fact that SIP reckon it will weld 4.5mm. That I'd like to see!
You could probably use gasless wire but the machine is set to use solid wire and gas so it may not work too well.
I take it you're using those crappy little disposable cylinders?

Hi and welcome, gasless wire can only be used in a machine designed for it, usually by the option of changing the polarity depending on gas or gasless wire.

I am fairly sure yours does not have that option, it is also not really powerful enough to weld the advertised 4mm it says it will.

model number 25029 - gas/gasless or model number 25028 gas only.
as you need to reverse polarity for gasless use, not on the plug!!??

T105P gas gasless ,,25-105 amp 60% @ 50a 100% @ 38a
duel polarity
eath lead fit to + positiv,
torch lead,ie the one comeing thruogh the same hole as the weld torch, to - neg if useing gasless wire,fluxed,,

reverse the polarity / leads if useing gas with solid wire ,ie torch + pos
earth - neg
wire gasless 0.8 in the rough groove on pull through wheel,ie nearest you,
and solid 0.6 wire with gas in smooth groove ,ie furthest away,,

fine tune wire speed with each change of power setting,,

ps i think you get about just under a meter of weld at its lowest setting useing the throwaway bottles

i can put a wireing diagram pic for the 105-130-150 gas
and the 105-130-150-170 gas/gasless,
as it doesnt look like it would be hard to convert a gas only to gas/gasless,
at a cost less than 15.00 with new parts sold on the bay ie 2 male/female welder conector plugs, and input from the experts on here,,will get pics of wireing soon

Thanks for all the advice folks - like I said, I wish I'd found this site sooner.
I use a welder for all sorts. Often the 105 is adequate, but then I get ambitious and need something more powerful. The disposable bottles are a pain and even if disconnected after use they are often empty when next you come to use them - hence my belated desire to be gasless. Given the helpful guidance I'll certainly give it a go.
