Have you adjusted the spark gaps? There is also a HF intensity adjustment.

Could be the HF caps have dried out. Check them (two rectangular black cubes with 2 terminals on the top.) They are expensive to replace if you can find them. I have a cheaper alternative.

Glad to see your machine is up and running again. sorry I forgot about the footpedal wiper part. I`ll see if i can find a part to send to you. The weak HF could be as shenion has already mentioned or it could be tracking down to earth on the back of the intensity pot. try cleaning up the spark gap and adjusting them to a 0.5mm - 1mm gap.
