Sykes Pickavant Dollies

Hi

Can any advise if the new dollies available from Sykes Pickavant identical in quality / shape to the older models with the same model prefix? Is there any benefit (aside from price) from trying to source an older model that I would have to clean up vs just buying a nice shiny new one?

Can't tell you if the model numbers are the same but the quality is spot on. I have SP and Kennedy hammers and dollies. The SP stuff is far superior

The Sykes Pickavent current hammers are the same as the Kennedy hammers. They changed a few years ago and now sourced from the same place in China I assume. Don't know about the dollies.

Thanks guys, I just bought a new one - SP54901 so will how it goes (not that i'd be able to tell if it was good or not). Hopefully the same shape as the SP549.

The only reason I asked is that I paid good money for a new Sykes flat faced hammer recently and it had manufacturing defects in the faces of the hammer that I had to get machined in order to use.
