Switching to gas- help needed

Hi,

Very new to welding and have a sealey mightmig 150 which is currently set up in gasless mode.....have purchased some 0.6 wire and a gas conversion kit from weldequip. Going to use argon and co2 mix as using thin metal. My question is do I need to change the tip to a 0.6mm tip? I have the one that is supplied with the welder which I believe is 1.0mm.

Have purchased a project Triump spitfire and it is going to need some serious welding so will have lots of chance to practice

Any tips or advice welcome

Yes, you will need a 0.6mm tip and also switch the polarity.

Have a look through the tutorials about setting the gas flow rate, might save you a lot of gas and money.

Think you will find MOSS at the bottom of M32 (next to Coffee grinders) do parts etc for Triumps
