Swiss army or multi tool knife servicing ?

When I was working I carried a knife and was in the way of meeting a couple of pals for a pint on the way home after I finished work at the course.

When the new legislation came in I asked a Bobby who lived almost next to me [no local presence by that time] how I stood. She said I ought to come home before going to the pub and leave the knife in the house.

Yeah right! Thereafter I left the knife in the Greenkeeper's shed.......

Scotland has its own knife laws. Unfortunately we, the law abiding vast majority, are legislated against according to the lowest common denominator ie the pond life who see a knife as a weapon not a useful tool to be used by grownups. Which is sad.

That is absolute nonsense! There is no way he should have been nicked for that You would think that especially in a rural area an officer would be mindful of that. I'm assuming it was a works truck for the same agency as you work for so liveried up too??

In my truck where I'm sat now in reach of me are:
Rope knife in glove box
Standard sheath knife on dog guard (where it lives so the blade doesnt get free - been got by a loose one under the seat before now)
Claw hammer under seat x2
Fencing pliers under seat
maglite on dog guard
I have also just re-found a small knife wedged in the sun visor which is where I stuck it one day when I found it out and about so I wouldn't get cut and have forgotten it was there.
Behind the seat is a whole other host of 'stuff' which could be construed as a weapon if anyone was of the mind. Let alone what's in the tool box and the tool racking where the back seats were (its a crew cab)

Oh, and I'm wearing my leatherman! That is just what's in a work / farm truck and it annoys me that half of it is illegal if some plod were to be a ****.

Old boy I know went to prison in his 60's for a week I think. First and only ever offence. He went to court in the public gallery to see a case he was interested in and pinged the metal detector with a penknife in his pocket. Here in Scotland attempting to take a knife into court is a specific offence with a custodial sentence. They gave him the minimum but it was very poor.

Yep, exactly the same truck and livery as I have.

Leatherman are like that. My Charge is the triggers broom of multi tools. Opened a diesel filter with the can opener and bust it - changed the whole tool.

At present it’s waiting to go back again but they will let me know when it moves up the queue due to rona. Brilliant service.

ive a few times been asked why i carry the knifes i carry most by security in places ive vistited a castle, london museams etc

near every time they accept i use them for work and carry them all the time one place i went to stoped and searched found my swiss army knife on my car keyring the bade is 1inch long and has a scissors that it i had to remove from my keys and leave it at the deak or i could not enter
