i'm planning to run a 32a supply to the garage.
taken horizontally, i have 5m of house wall + 4m of patio to cross + a 2m drop into the patio, then a 2m rise to CU in garage.
so 13m of SWA from house CU to garage CU.
6kw max power into:
https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Technical/Charts/VoltageDrop.html
gives me a 4mm minimum cable size.
i'm going for 10mm
I've left a 8in x 6in trench along the edge of the patio which will eventually become a concrete step/ramp onto the driveway - it will have chicken wire as reinforcing, if this makes a difference.
effectively, this means i can bury the cable 200mm in, but only 150mm down into solid concrete.
.
I'll be adding mains cable marking tape.
I'd also like to run a cat5 cable at the same time
I'm looking for options.
catenary wire over patio?
lay a scaffold pipe conduit.
just the cable? (and some 25mm pvc conduit for the ethernet)
40mm pvc pipe as conduit.
cardboard pipe as (biodegradeable) conduit, leaving a hollow through the concrete.
for these options, which will need a separate pipe for the ethernet?
I'm wanting to run the cable through any conduit before burying - its easier than trying to thread it through 2 90degree bends at floor level.
