Hi All,
I'm getting into a bit of fabrication again and when at a mates yesterday he was using his (fairly new to him) Susemse 50A plasma cutter and it (inc the concept of plasma cutting in general) was quite impressive.
Now I want one of course but reading around the threads here feel I'm more a Lidl level customer but at the same time really appreciate my little Lincoln 160(?) MIG welder that my Mrs bought me a good few years back.
So if you spend a bit more on these 'lower level' things do you generally actually get something a bit more robust and with better access to consumables / support or does it just mean a different name badge and possibly more markup?
Stories of these things only lasting a few minuites and replacement boards only lasting the same time?
I'm ok with a heavy transformer or even a bridge rectifier but I'm very wary of high voltage switch mode Power supplies and inverters, especially when run on their limits or where a slight usage slip releases all the magic smoke. ;-(
So, anyone have a budget plasma cutter that they could recommend that has proven to be reasonably tough please?
