Carrying on grinding without feeding down any more until there are no more sparks coming off the workpiece. I guess you could liken it to taking a spring cut on the lathe, except it may take multiple passes on a SG.

Tried it again. Still getting a problem right at the limit of the y axis.
I have decided to ignore it.
Working beautifully under power or manual feed. My micrometer goes to 5 digits imperial and 3 digits after the point metric and no difference
Surface finish lovely as well. Scratches down to me measuring.
