well my arc inverter kicked the bucket so found myself diging out my old buzz box.
it's an old SIP turbo weld 8. had to make some new leads for it as last time it was used I melted the torch and since then stole the earth lead. as i'm allways hearing these air-cooled sets will only burn about 2 rods and quit on the cut-out I thought i'd give it a bit of a test before carrying it to far.
so dug out an old box of rods ( 6013 3.2 sifs )
so and then a few more to see if I can find the cutout
quite surprised it managed that without issue, and didn't find the thermal cutout was starting to smell of hot dust so it probably was not far away. so quick clean with wire brush, bit out of practice but dint think this was to terrible
tried to burn some 7018's but as expected that didn't work much
