one of my mates lurchers came back with a hedgehog once...no idea how it managed to carry it about 150 yards without pricking itself...when he took it off the dog he put it down in the hedgerow and it trotted off like nothing had happened

I had one in my rat trap last year too i wasnt cutting the trap up to get it out waited till it curled up and rolled it out sort of!

Be careful if you're tempted to take it into the house , they're most often loaded with fleas.....

I believe hedgehogs are great for eating slugs in the garden.

oh they are i saw it crawling with fleas!

it aint doing its job then i have loads of slugs!

last year we had 1 in the porch,up against the inner door [outer ones nearly always open] dog was agitated,went upstairs to get wife,in that time the hog is in the dogs bed! he's staring at it confusingly,dog was ushered into the house [for a treat], next morning hog was gone though we see them occasionally along the brookside.

I like hedgehogs too, used to see lots here every year. Now I see a couple a year. They can be a pest though, very good at stealing eggs and taking chicks.

before anyone says. its lactose free milk I fed it as there lactose intolerant

I was just going to - dog food and water is a recommended diet if you need to feed them.

I fed my dog on Bakers Complete dry stuff and the forthcoming pup will be on James Wellbeloved kibble for a while (the wifey insists)...........so I assume you dont mean that

checked the rat trap today and thought id caught a large one . to my surprise it was a hedgehog dunno how it got in but I had to cut the cage up to get it out . got a tray and cover and sat it in with some milk and dog meat and10 mins later it was eating it and now sleeping it off il let it go later tonite if it already don't climb out and go

Should NOT give them milk as it can give them the S***s and they then dehydrate. Just plain tap water is fine . Tinned dog and cat food so long as not fish based.
