Super 7 myford wich year?

Hello I have a super 7 but I can't find the serial number there for I can't know the built date. Here are some pictures of it. If some expert could tell me the approximately built date I be grateful. Kind of messy but I have to replace the motor for a three phase 220/380 or a single phase 220. It came with a 380 and I can't connect to the vdf.

Rear tailstock end of bed is where mine is - with the oil reservoir on the headstock, it's early - mine's similar (1953) - No power cross feed on these

Similar to mine too. I would say 1950s. If the serial number is not on the bed it's possibly been reground?

Get the top off the motor and take a picof what's inside. Just because it says 415v only doesn't mean it can't be wired for 240V delta. I just wired up a motor which only says 415v but actually has the link bars under the motor cover.

Looking at your pics it looks like it has quite a big junction box there's a good chance you don't need a motor at all.

EDIT: this motor. Says 415v but is actually 415/240v when you open it up.

Yes I have got to go and sort through wht's there. Mostly it's stuff that too large a pitch for my hobber so that's a good thing. One less thing to paint :D Had a chance to look over this machine today, I can now appreciate what this fuss is all about. Seriously nice compact bit of kit...

Hi Pete I just did that and the wiring is for 380v and I don't know if it can handle 220v the wiring is connected together no conector retangle and connection plates. I have one 220/380 laying around I will connect it to the lathe.

Yes it's 380volts, that isn't a problem, that won't make any difference, the star point is buried in the motor, if you can find it, and wire it for 220/240 three phase, you can run it on a VFD!

well we know that so it does make a diffrence . the motor will have to be stripped and altered and the 3 ends of windings seperated and brought out in to a 6 way conector not everyone has the knowlege or the inclination to do it
