Not welding per se so I thought the Brew Room was best.
Gotta sunroof hole to fill in an race car. I have part of another roof as a donor panel and was thinking about trimming to size, holding place with magnets/butt welding panel clamps and butt welding slowly then dealing with the warpage with hammering and filler.
I saw a rally car, however, with a patch panel which was bonded to the roof using panel bonding adhesive and a bunch of tabs made from angle and/or other folded metal strips. It was sealed from above and below with some sort of mastic. Looked just like a closed sunroof.
Would this work? The gap need not be as tight as it would for butt welding. What panel bonding adhesive should I use?
