Looking for suggestions...
I want to clear more workbench space, and I'm looking for a good storage system for rolls of tape, string, etc., (wire will be stored elsewhere).
I'm currently using the 'pile system,' as you can see in the photo below.
There are a few limiting criteria:
* I'm almost completely out of available wall storage space, so I don't want a wall-mounted rack.
* I want to be able to grab individual rolls quickly and take them to wherever I'm working, so I don't want a tear-off dispenser setup or a long rod that goes through a bunch of rolls and has to be pulled out every time I want to take a roll with me.
* It has to be able to hold rolls of varying width (maybe up to 8 inches) and diameter (at least up to 6 inches).
Because of the above limitations, I'm leaning toward something that would go under one of my ceiling-hung shelves, like the one shown below.
Ideas?
