if it's for occasional just use a hack saw, good sharp blade.. the end result will be more than clean enough for putting crimped cable lugs on... not worth spending big money on the "proper" snips if your only doing half a dozen a year or so...
Fine tooth blade, but use it back to front or it snags the fine cables and makes a mess.
