I was buying some gearbox adapter plates from Lotus and had the car rummaged on the way out by the gate security. First time it had been so strict, so I asked a mate who was one of the senior accountants. Seem they had caught a worker with a few nicked bits and checked his house out. He had nearly completed an Elan, entirely from stolen parts.

This thread just reminded me of a Dutch guy, who ran a successful business where I used to live. I did a bit of design and fabbed unusual bits for him. He chearfully admited to swopping the labels on stuff at Macro, so he got decent goods at low prices. Insane or what? A conviction would have finished his business, but he just thought he was cleverer than them...
Didn't work out so well, he thought it was OK to drive across a swollen river ford. We found him several days later in a lake about 5km downstream.

One of the wife's previous jobs. The warehouse manager was responsible for inputting hours into the computer for payroll purposes. He was also ******** one of the office girls.

He was sacked in the end.

What did the office girl get in the end?

Earlier this year a parts manager at jaguar/land rover got done for stealing £2 million worth of parts.

A visitin dignitary to the yard supposedly looked from the office windows at the fishing boats moored in the channel and asked "and who built all these little boats" to which the manager replied "we did, we just can't prove it"

A guy was sacked at the place I served my time at, he wasn't stealing goods as such, he was allegedly selling sex toys using his work phone number in the advert, this was before ebay and online selling sites.

Evidently he lost his leg below the knee in a motorbike accident, while he was recuperating they employed somebody to do his job, he reported strange phone calls and after an investigation they opened his locker which was full of buzzing things.

When the supermarkets started doing reduced price on near sell by date food, the just used a roll of very basic stickers, I had a big roll of the stickers !

An odd one from Longbridge, guy stopped at gate and bag searched, they found an alternator so they followed procedure, called civil police so he could be arrested and a search warrant issued to search his house where they found his garage literally full of new alternators. Turns out it was a mental issue and he just took the alternators home but did not sell or give them to anyone, the company sent a wagon to collect them, arranged for psychiatric help for the guy and he kept his job.

A stupid one, guy stopped and found with a pair of number plates he had made in the works garage for a neighbour, lost his 20+ years job, pension etc. for something costing a few pounds at a car shop.

Well organised one, transporter driver would take an extra car off site then drop it off so his associate could collect it using false number plates.

A friend was a driver for Mr Kiplings he would turn up at the club with his car boot full of Jaffa fingers, mini rolls, viennese slices, fruit pies the lot. He put 4 stone on in a year, didnt last though as about 10 drivers got sacked.

I discovered a nice little scam between the Goods Inwards guy and the one of the Buyers at a company I worked for. I just happened to be at Goods Inwards when a load of tools we had ordered arrived so I signed them in, took the box to the workshop and found there were two extra Hitachi cordless drills and a few other items more than we had ordered. I checked all the copies I could find of the Purchase Orders and found the quantities had been altered after being signed off by a Director then handed to the buyer for ordering. The Goods Inwards guy came and asked if I had collected any tools so I told him I had and they were all distributed, his face was like thunder but he couldn't say anything! The next Purchase Order I put through had the quantities written and was underlined with a big Z and the Buyer queried why I had done it and asked me not to in future!
