Hey folks
Just starting a thread to give Weldequip a chance to go ballistic about cheap imported cr@p...
Bloke came into the yard today gleefully waving around his latest bargain buy, a Tesco Value cordless drill, half price at £4.98 (usual price £9.97)
Now he was dead chuffed because he'll use it on his boat, so if he drops it in the sea or it corrodes, he won't care. It also comes with a two year guarantee, so any probs, he's one man who'll be straight back to the shop (the same fella once took back a half eaten loaf of bread he decided he didn't like. They gave him a new one)
I had a look at this 'thing', took out the battery and - well you know how packets of crisps are full of air? - well the battery housing was like that! It was like it had maybe a pp3 9v rechargeable inside (ish), and a big empty space. The whole thing was quite well balanced when all together, so that tells us a bit about the size of the motor. What a joke.
Then we had a big argument while I railed against Tescos, homogenizing everything to a cheap and nasty mediocrity and doing all the good manufacturers out of business while he continued grinning about his fantastic bargain.
I'd post a pic of the offending item but Tescos might sue if I do. For those of you who like cheap 5h1t, and care not about the fate of the world, they also have a power drill for the same price and an angle grinder for not much more.
Weldequip, the floor is yours...
