stupid mistake

I've just started using a Mig and made a silly mistake today: I forgot to turn on the CO2 bottle! I didn't realise this until after doing the welding. The weld doesn't seem too bad and it's not critical (ie if it failed in use it wouldn't be a disaster safety or otherwise). Do you think I can leave it - or should I start again? All advice gratefully received.No need to be kind - I'm not proud!!

If a job's worth doing then it's worth doing right and all that...

I would cut it apart and start again, just so you know you've done it properly.

Personally if it will safely withstand whatever it needs to or if it is cosmetic and not safety critical then I would probably leave it. But that's just me.

dont worry mate, ive forgotton to turn OFF my bottle after welding.

i didnt notice till i tried to weld something a few days later. it must have found a small leak in my pipe work (it is gas after all)

it was a new bottle too i only had it a few days.

gutted aint the word.

I think you should redo it regardless as to where or what it is.
Chances are, its barely stuck together if you used no gas.

Making yourself redo it will teach you not to forget to turn the gas on too

Thanks to all. I think I will redo it - teach myself a lesson! A picture? I daren't send one - not yet. But this is a great forum: I'm going to spend some time on it this weekend, going over advice on past topics.
