Our local stone is mostly limestone, do you think crushed granite might be the way forward? Or maybe flint chippings?
I'm thinking of building a rotary barrel tumbler specifically for being able to tumble balustrades.
Granite and flint will be preferable,we have neither unfortunately. Wow balustrades,that’s a biggie,I’d like to see that.

This one is staying as hardcoated poly, the vast majority of our work is for TV/Film and retail/events. So unless the client wants multiple units all our larger Sculpt’s are hardcoated poly. Here are a few more.

Finally finished the estate fencing that went with some gates,I’ve made this before yet never erected it,used little strips of galv 1.5mm to tighten the posts to the rails,plus collars at the top,this kept the posts plumbed,finish is galvanised then etch washed with mordant acid. The sloping section didn’t require retaining strips,the varying angle locked everything together. This section still awaiting 3runs of wire which you can see on the flat fence.

Today I made some, roughly, 60mm OD pipe (2 inch water pipe) bigger.
I want it to be a snug fit inside 21/2 inch water pipe which is 70mm odd ID.
I used a big reduction motor that @Pete. donated and it worked a treat.
The earth was a bit temperamental but it worked ok.
Also, it doesn't have much mass so got toasty pretty quickly but I let it cool down before it got too hot.
I hope two runs is enough, not enough to fully clean up, but enough for my needs.
I now need to work out how to hold it in a Boxford.

It's the 5 inch version and the base plate is only 150mm square so it fits, but I don't have a good way to clock it.
In the end I welded a cylindrical slug to the baseplate and got it close enough by eye. I got fed up trying to get a dial gauge to measure it.
