Previously we had the straw up top and higher up and it was a sod to get up under the eaves end on. We need access to the hay daily but straw probably weekly so that's why it was that way around.
However putting the straw down low we could have a lower mezzanine for the hay bale and also a another mezzanine behind it higher up above head height for more storage.
