garage looks lower than the surrounding material id consider a drain from infront to around the back lower area to get rid of any water going near the front of the garage

The photo creates a somewhat misleading impression. The ground slopes away from the garage at the sides and back. When the excavation contractor returns (after the ground is frost-free), he'll remove several inches of the crushed stone driveway underlayment in front of the garage and grade it so that the driveway will drain away from the garage and off to a low area on the right. We also have an underground perimeter drain system around the garage foundation and under the garage slab, even though it's a bit of overkill.garage looks lower than the surrounding material id consider a drain from in front to around the back lower area to get rid of any water going near the front of the garage
the steps id turn them as you can use the storage under the steps rather well
Oh that's pretty neat, I like that!As to the stairway, I do plan to take advantage of the space under the stairway for storage, and also for a workbench where there's enough height. As mentioned, I plan to re-work the lower six steps so that they fold up flat against the wall. Here is one example I found on YouTube, although I already have several design changes in mind: Sample folding stairway.
