Gave the door number a final coat of was on the wood and painted up the numbers, had no clear coat but I'm sure the chap can sort something out.
Not even 40 yet and have shakey hands so not the best highlights..and I definitely need to find a more user friendly tool than a big router for cutting the numbers out and probably.some better router bits.

Very nice improvement! And I'm happy that board games seem to be making a comeback. Coincidentally, I just read The Shadow Over Innsmouth, by H. P. Lovecraft last night. Arkham figured into the story.

Working on a bowl guard tonight for this mixer i have refurbed for a customer.
It's been one of those projects that gets a few hours in between other jobs! Over the course of three months!

Red neck press tool former thingy, with the ongoing repairs to the Carlton the bulkhead harness grommet comes through a 46mm hole with raised edges, thought id have a quick go with piece of scrap steel, MDF off cuts and some hole saws one of which I used as the punch!

Golly that came out well!! I think its a big enough bit to use so not scrap after all

I haven't posted anything for a while, not that I haven't done anything, just that what I have been doing was not that exciting. Today I started something that I have wanted to do. I have been asked to build a gantry on a fishing boat to mount a 'power block'. A frame that will hold a hydraulic driven rubber lined 'V' pulley to haul up a net onto the deck of the vessel to allow it to be deployed into the ocean again.

I will post more pics as to the build of this and it's final install and operation. I just prefer doing these jobs rather than crawling inside engine rooms!

Supposed to be repairing a gangway but there were that many cracks and corroded bits I have to make a complete new frame. I will be able to keep the base plate and the handrails but that is all.

Far too windy today to weld outside so had to use the band saw as a workbench

First side with the cross pieces in.

Flipped over and welded to the other side rail.

Then I set it flat ready for welding on the pads that will take the handrails.

Then I managed to manhandle it out the door, not much room in my workshop

Made my BSA front brake work as it was designed to do, pulled up some interesting Stellite TIG beads, and actually made some room in the workshop, courtesy of a departing machine, that went back to its keeper. Who is a nice bloke, but one of the worlds great ditherers....
