Test on a piece of anodised aluminium of the engraving I will hopefully do on the top clamps I am making (currently being anodised) CRF letters are 8mm high, 1100 is 3mm, came out better than I thought it would.

This week I've had it blasted:

Then I primed it (I wanted to galv it but just couldn't justify the cost):

Painted it, and yes, I know what you're thinking, what a lovely colour! No?

And fitted a top!

I need to make a shelf for it and put a sheet of something on the top before bolting the PIllar drill and Milling machine to it.

Unfortunately that is unlikely to be next week now as Mrs RWD is sending me off to the Black Country Museum (built on the site of the old Denbigh Factory as I understand it) and Oldfield Forge for a day of Smithing (can't wait!).

Not familiar with 'Corpo'? but it's the same paint I used for the inside of the workshop door

Looks like the colour the machines used to be painted with at the old works, probably chosen so no-one would take any home.

My lad & I are resiting the 3D printer PSU externally. Slides out on draw runners for periodic vacuuming / checking the screw terminals. Bigger csa silicone cables to connect to the printer. Bit of perforated sheet bent and sprayed black at the front. The printer will sit atop this and the cover be made lift on/off for fully enclosed printing of "smelly" plastics:

A bit of wood bothering. You might not think it but with the addition of a dust shoe it’s night and day on how much mess it makes. Doesn’t help the noise much though.

Funny though, how many times that paint turned up outside the city boundaries.

One 92mm Starrett cutter & some emery cloth later. A bigger fan for the printer psu:

Got to dig out some M4 nylocs:

Made some pins for my press project. A 25mm, then 24mm down to 10mm in 2mm steps. Also got the edges of the plates milled flat and square, after letting the smoke out of my angle grinder cutting them.

Just to add they're all .2mm ish under the sizes stated so that I can push out the stated size (bearings etc) without them binding.

No, it's a piece of Axminster* carpet. Terrible on the eyes but great under foot!

*It really is Axminster, came from a friend of the wife who decided to replace it with... yes, more Axminster!

Tested out the mist coolant for real today.
First part of vid is a bit I did with flood, you can see the build up of swarf, next is the mist, it keeps everything clear

Brilliant you've just given me the solution to me making some thin stainless steel protective caps for the greased head stock taper roller bearings on my ancient lathe .
