Letter painted on reverse of the glass, and backfilled with blue glitter. Not perfect, I need to allow more drying time between layers.
I want to do more of these. I've got a thing for signs and lettering lately.

I can't help wondering how many logs that'll split before the nut wears smooth.![]()
I’ve seen worse welds
Wouldn’t a bottle jack work better?
Looks fair game for a small / medium axe.
I’ve got a similar jack as that Slim, I welded a large nut on in place of the bit where the handle fits so I could run it up with a rattle gun.
Thanks lads, I appreciate all the 'likes' and comments.
Which nut?
Probably. I did originally plan one, but couldn't find one which worked in a horizontal orientation so screw jack it had to be. The total cost of this (ignoring gas, wire and time) is nil/zero/zilch, which is about all it's worth.
He has one but is getting past wielding it, sadly.
Aye, I'd do the same but he's not got an ugga-dugga and would have no reason to buy one - he's no interest in things mechanical.
John, you can alway add a ram plus two hefty return springs to it at a later date and use your press pump.

Those jacks can strip their threads if abused.
The gauge is an odd tapered thread, measuing 9.8mm small end and 10.3mm big end, doesnt seem to match any of the bsp/bspt spec... It wouldnt start in my 1/8" bsp tapped hole or the die on the gauge. Im thinking China used 28tpi for BSP but kept the same, slightly larger OD of NPT?Ive tidied shed a bit and have regained access to the lathe.
Hose barb adaptors for vac filter.

M10x1 to hose barb adaptor, with 1/8" bsp on the side for a gauge, needs tapping.
