Edit. Sorry, this thread is hard to keep up with, I see you said it's a 1.8 already.
The bpze/t engines were a good bit of kit. Got given a burnt out miata import which had the bpze engine, I had a smokey 1.8 uk spec 323f at the time. Bpze can handle alot of power compared to it, better crank and crank saddle etc. Needed some work to go from a rwd to fwd, sump etc but thats part of the fun!
My 323f was never the same again! And I only unleashed a little of what it was capable of!

Probably. I did originally plan one, but couldn't find one which worked in a horizontal orientation so screw jack it had to be. The total cost of this (ignoring gas, wire and time) is nil/zero/zilch, which is about all it's worth.
He has one but is getting past wielding it, sadly.
Aye, I'd do the same but he's not got an ugga-dugga and would have no reason to buy one - he's no interest in things mechanical.
I can't help wondering how many logs that'll split before the nut wears smooth.

John, you can alway add a ram plus two hefty return springs to it at a later date and use your press pump.

The gauge is an odd tapered thread, measuing 9.8mm small end and 10.3mm big end, doesnt seem to match any of the bsp/bspt spec... It wouldnt start in my 1/8" bsp tapped hole or the die on the gauge. Im thinking China used 28tpi for BSP but kept the same, slightly larger OD of NPT?
I eventually got the die to start and being brass, it cut quite nicely. A couple of adjustments and I got the gauge to seat in the right position! It will be thread locked so no problem if I missed.
Theres a tiny leak but I think thread lock will solve that.

Not today, but last week, when I was working away.
But the camera memory card died, so I re-staged the key points.
The sledge/seige Morta is made from scrap and saved items.
The parts, laid out
The clamps are a set of pipe clamps from a Gas supression system. Fitted with m3 bross drome nuts on steel M3 studs.
The morta body was found in a scrap bin. In a company that does drain cleaning.
The RHS side had a 2mm rubber sleeve on it.
The mounting points is a brass bar, cut down of a Extinguisher head remoavel tool. The thread that fits the extinguisher head was striped.
It was cheeper to get a new tool than buy a die to fix the thread.
The firing pouring port is from a head of an Extinguisher.
The side frames are from a stowage box of hydrant service spares box. The smaller holes are drilled by me. The larger one I asked nicley at an engineering firm I was working in at the time.
The side studs are items I had in my van.
The sleeves are brass, from a pick up tube of an extinguisher. Cut down.
Bugger I did not notice the damage.
Assembled, te firing port is visable. By luck, more than designe it is in the right place.
Ready to loose a few Ball rounds.

This 30mm He round case was crushed at the end. But using a tapered turned mandle. From oak I managed to save the lower 2/3's. Mostly. So I cut it down and made a pen holder.
This was a 1955 40mm Bofa case.
This was all i could save. The brass was split, strenched and not recovable.
The percussion cap and holder had long gone. But a penny from the money box I got the other day fitted.
So it is fitted.
This thimble shot measure was rescued at the same time. I did not say it was not brass. But then I did not say it was silver either.
My bad?

I returned the oak I used to save the 30mm caseto turn this round again.
Ignore the pepper grinder.
It is not for black pepper now.
It will be used for black powder.

Managed to check with the neighbour who gave me the 'practise' logs - as I suspected, they're fresh cut and not seasoned.
I did wonder and had my doubts - little wonder the socket was spinning.
