Made another lowering link as I had nothing else to do today seeing as my new Twin will not be uncrated until Tuesday Was supposed to be today but they are overloaded with work and a mechanic down. Also wasn't happy with the previous ones finish on the anodising.

I wanted tubeless wheels and that was going to be the best part of £3k so traded in my standard Africa Twin for an Adventure sport model which comes with tubeless. I originally wanted the Adventure Sport but it only came in red/white/blue or gloss black and I wasn't keen on either so went for the standard model that came in matt black. Then they announced the 2022 models and the gloss black was replaced by matt

The extra screens aren't actually too bad, they're for controlling the sprayer and seed drill when they're on the back, the amount of things you can setup with the tractors main screen is unreal.

I had a go at tig with a snapped bandsaw blade, it would be nice to repair one, while the other good for testing, it is blunt.

Set up on a heatsink with a bit of GFS to align.

Difficult. I did fill the hole and get fully welded and annealed, but it had bent up/twisted and no way to straighten it out.
I might try silver brazing instead, think it will be easier.

I tried on numerous occasions to tig blades ..kept burning holes on every setting under the sun .. I now know it's no use thinking your argon is Ok if you don't look at the gauge & flow meter .. Gas sneaked out the turned off cylinfder months ago ...it had only had four or five minutes running time out of it .

It had formed a proper hard spot and I blunted two drills trying exactly that. I don't have any carbide and as cool as it would be to EDM it, the threads weren't a great fit anyway so I made another. Drilled the hole first this time and didn't have any more problems. It's an adapter to put a corny keg gas post on a cream whipper so I can fill it with a big co2 cylinder rather than pay silly money for 8g cartridges. I made a plastic one a while ago and always intended to make it again in stainless, so this is that.



I had to slightly bore out the cartridge holder to clear the points on the nut, that way I can screw it over the top and it looks all clean and nice.

I'd be interested what method you use? I've done a few searches, a few mention grinding a scarf joint for silver soldering.
How do you clamp it up to keep alignment, without it sticking or distorting?
I'll chop off this bad tig joint and test silver solder before I try the good blade.
