The cheapo Chinese lights I had for the Africa Twin started playing up, should have known better and bought decent ones but...

Went with some Denali ones this time but they didn't fit onto the bracket I had so off to the workshop.

Bracket ready for alterations.

Milled to shape/size.

Made up some spacers as the hole is 10mm and the bolt required is 6mm.

Light fits perfectly

Also made another crab spike.

And then made up some wear inserts that are the new design I have come up with for the steering joints on the Cats.

I rehoused the remote panel for the new vfd. It needed to be rewired to suit the new controller so I thought I would make it a bit better by using a IP54 rated case. It just needs some labels

Tongs finished. Might spray with VHT black paint.

Control box wired up, tested, then off.

Welded a patch over the excessively large thermocouple hole and added some 16mm bar as handles.

Sods law then started to rain, so no melting today.

Ground back thinking a second pass with 2.5mm's but I cocked it up with bad aim

Made a 'hi-fi' shelf. I used shellac which I wiped on. I was going to go for a dark finish similar to the bookshelf. I am still experimenting with dark finishes on pine. I used ruby dewaxed shellac for this, but it turned out pretty darn light when I appled it with a rag. The antenna arrangement is temporary.

I also nee d proper speakers, and likely a pair of shelves for them.

Fjr1300 engine into Slag

I did not let a heavy shower stop me. Waterproofing has been considered! I did add a weighted tarp after... It was starting to glow and just as I was about to add metal in the pot.

I did intend to add another two peices 500g worth, but for some unexplained reason the house RCD tripped, but then was fine after resetting Landlord was not happy, even though it was only off 20 seconds.

Fell out the tube nicely, quite happy with the result. Plan to turn this first, and might cross section to get an idea of porosity.

Was a busy day on Saturday, we started making some big sliding door frames and also cutting and folding 24 2mm sheets into various shapes for a customer. Hopefully get the folding finished tonight as sheetmetal takes up a lot of space!
I also made some nifty weld in bosses for the top of the doors, they were welded in and then tapped to M16 for the sliders to screw into. Love a bit of over engineering.

The morning has not been boring Today at work, and without even noticing it was already time to go home .
Plasma cut parts for a quick change adapter for an hammer (mini excavator)
Welded up and later I'll clean and paint it
Used the milling machine too .

No long term projects anymore . Until the next fit of enthusiasm.
