27m of that 320 series stuff, 6 trollies, 12m of the lighter gauge stuff and 4 trollies, about £1500 ish (off the top of my head)
another 450 ish for steel for the doors themselves too, plus making...

Almost finished to weld the bucket.
Boss has seen how I was working on it, and found my way to approach to the job interesting (making in practice years and years of experience and ideas learned via watching videos mainly cutting edge engineering Australia in this case)
Anyway he asked me at end of the day if someone did helped me.
I've done all alone.
He said that I have a good hand and that with practice I'll become good enough to take the place of an employee that retired few months ago.
So everything welding , cutting and fabrication related would be my specialization in the shop.
I believe it's positive for me , I'm gaining a position I guess.

Make sure you get the pay of the employee too, can't be doing multiple jobs for the same pay

Now I'm limiting myself, I'm flying low to let them know me and what I'm able to do , trying to stay as humble as possible.

Mostly finished control box. Brazed some 2mm offcuts to tap m3. As its thin sheet I tried sifbronze, silverflo would have been much easier and quicker!
Wiring mostly complete. Plan to add this NO switch on the relay control signal later on.
Check it works. The SSR has an LED to show when its triggering. Some kind of light guide would be useful to make it visible from top.

Not my finest work but with the weekend on top of us it was a fast_a_ you_like job. The last couple of months of a weekend the local lost souls society have gathered at the playing field where the scout hut is located, and once in a while someone has seen fit to kick the soil pipe to smithereens so I was asked if I could "make something to go around it" and here it is, once again the Fincords made me look good, I am not with vertical welding but it passed muster and it is now ready for the weekend onslaught, pic of my pal Doug grinding any sharp edges off in case the little Dahlings hurt themselves:
I fitted it around the Soil pipe and welded the end on, It is not my finest work but I fully expect to be replacing it within six months.

I heard the spindle slow down a bit and looked down the workshop to see a load of smoke, thought it was something serious but thankfully it was just the bearings internals on the tool holder
I was milling a part for the footpegs I am making. I took a peg off yesterday and measured it up and sadly the alu I had made the peg from wasn't long enough so I had to come up with a new design, it is now a 2 part peg
I milled the back of the peg and put a key on it and also milled the angle at the bottom and the step at the top then bored and tapped 2x M6 holes.
I then found another bit of alu and proceeded to mill it away, the bit that goes against the footpeg.
The other side that will fix to the hanger on the bike.
Two parts bolted together.
I still have to machine the lugs on the back to shape, they need to be like this.
It has been a lot of work so far but I think I am just going to finish this one then test it out to see if it fits and how it feels. If it is good I think I will get some 50mm square aluminium and make them one piece. A 4th axis would have made things a lot simpler but I don't have one so...
