Just moved around. I could of set them up on the Positioner but I would of had to make a dowel to bolt to the centre (I haven’t got a chuck) and there was only 10 to do so 20 welds. Took about two hours to preheat them, tack them and weld them.Did you turn them to weld, or move around? Nice!
It’s 6 or 8mm Aluminium I can’t remember now. The edge quality and dimensional accuracy is amazing. That looks pretty thick material [well, to me], what's the cutting capacity of these waterjet machines?![]()
The one in my weegie pals work does up to 150mm . They use it for glass mainly but they do take in work from other places on occasion. That looks pretty thick material [well, to me], what's the cutting capacity of these waterjet machines?![]()
Here it is.

It actually does up to 200mm according to that page.
Aye, 200mm and material doesn't matter just time taken is material dependent. The vid of it cutting the Mac (best thing for themYep, 200mm in stainless I seem to recall being told.
I've used Control Water Jet & Water Jet Profiles in the past. Got a local place near me, Aquacut in Northfleet. (Did the bits for my brother's astronomy pier).
Aye, 200mm and material doesn't matter just time taken is material dependent. The vid of it cutting the Mac (best thing for them) is impressive due to the many layers of different materials and air gaps etc.
I got some 60mm steel cut and there was a bit of a bevel on the edge but seemingly they can offset the head to allow for that if they can be ersed, mine was a freebie so they couldn't be ersedSeem to recall being told the thicker the material the more off square the edge could go. I had some 30mm nylon cut into funky shapes before. Edge is weird, like fine serrated vertical lines.
You can cut MDF too. Where it gets wet it shrinks back to size apparently.
I made a new table for my bargain Aldi portable bandsaw ( that still allows it to work as the chop saw as well) and allows it to be mounted in the vice as a vertical bandsaw View attachment 275650

Love your workshop, what kind of band saw is that ? It's pretty.
I bought a proper certified man cage. First thing I had to do was put a sheet of wood in the floor as it was so flimsy. But never mind it is within specWe looked into making a man riding cage for a customer before. Paperwork and certification would cost more than the job was worth!
