I noticed them. I assume you'll be carrying on the welding tradition?
Are these blades expensive?

The blades are about 30 £ locally, so yes the Tig will be used again.
Next time I order tools from the US I'll bring a few more. They are 16 $ there, can buy 5 used for 15 $.

It is working.
That was after 10 minutes in the tank.
The solution is good, the amps are good.


I wasn't good.

Left it in two long and trashed it.

Back to drawing board.

Finished off the stand for the bandsaw. Forst off turned the second stub axle


Then fitted both wheels, I did think about straightening the box at the bottom to make it vertical but don't think it needs it really.


Then moved onto trimming the standing legs and fitting the adjustable feet



All finished and recycled the old handle as well

Well, it stated as overboard the ceiling as i put my foot through it and water damage from when the roof leaked

Well it couldn't be that simple the ceiling always had a big bow which was very visually obvious once id boarded it

So cut the old board to allow the new board to sit higher

What a shock its bowed as the roof design has bowed the joist and the web attachment has also twisted it, ill pull it up as much as possible

Which lead to floating the bad bits


On with the plaster

The end result


Totally worth the effort

Not much choice, really didnt want to lower the ceiling as it would be noticeable into the extension. Catch 22

Flat and egg shell is good enough for a ceiling it wasn't supposed to become a trade i do, some how fell into it 4 years ago have done more than id thought i would

Can screed a floor and render a wall. A weekend should do me for pointers and timing advice

Yes it's all worth having a go. Some people have a go and seem to get better than the desired result, some don't. In my neck of the woods I have 'had a go' at many things, even things outside my norm, and have been quite successful. I am very fortunate in the scope of things I get to do and also know my limits. The more you do and are prepared to have a go at, the greater the experience and it makes the next job a little easier. Good on those that are prepared to have a go, even those that aren't so successful they still learn from their experience and live to fight another day

Exactly that, at home if its something superficial whats the worst you can do, cost a your self a bit of time and money. I wouldn't advice a customer to have their ceiling floated to much risk of failure. In my own home its an interesting experiment.

Lifes too short to not try if you are interested, but don't do anything that could kill someone or yourself!

This Britool Socket set was sent to me from a good friend.


Complete, but showing its age.
Has come a long way.



This drill was used to clean up the tin.
This picture is staged.
It is an on going project at MIS. To try and educate members what is not good practise.
A whole H&S nightmare.

The sockets and accessories were given a good wire brushing, with a bench mounted wire brush.
Then a rattle can of clear coat.

2 bags from this lot and 2 more from before Christmas could not be stored.
I don't need it for heating the house, just for fun.



Metal recovery.
Get a good hot ember bed, add the metal, with lots of recoverable alloy.
Wait.

The melt was a mixture of items.
Car jack, dead security cameras, power supplies, and 3 small engine bodies.



The first blooms from the first melt of the year.

It total 22kg of clean alloy, 6kg off steel. 1.5kg of copper

The steel is pulled as soon as it is clean. It sucks up the heat.
The copper is left until the fire is dead.

Started "restoring" "refurbishing" few CEE sockets

Painted in white after masking the plate
Painted the 0 in black and the 1 in red

Over the hols I went out the side gate and discovered the right hand post was snapped clean through, good job i was on holiday, not.

All joints were made with circular saw, not the best for the job but everything else useful was not at home with me.

i use mine for allsorts would be lost without it, especially my worm drive saw can use that with a good deal of control
