At Men In Sheds we are keen in promoting a safe work place. Hence why we have H&S safety rules.
Not all members like, agree or want to obey.
This is why we do no hot works. But members complain that we have got a few paraffin Blow torches.
It was a few lessons today to show why we can't do hot stuff.
This was a set up to prove a point.
Fire Blankets, Powder and Foam extinguishers close by. Plus training given.

A simple picture, but so much is wrong here, that was explained.
But I wanted to show the nice blue flame is visible, inside.
But outside.

Still alight, but not visible.
That was a eye opener for the members.
Even more so when I showed how far the radiated it could travel.

How it could go wrong.
Yes, unburnt fuel being ejected and spreading, total distance was 4 feet.
Yes, this was set up to show how it could go wrong. I wanted to show what may go wrong.
The MIS members now have a better understanding of why we don't have open flames.
I hope we don't get anymore:
It was ok years ago, or such like remarks.
