A quick update;@slim_boy_fat The BM discraced itself this morning and I need it on Monday, the earliest I can get a replacement hose and flange from BMW is Tuesday. Looking for alternatives I found these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OEM-Wate...604231?hash=item3fc35d3147:g:Wi4AAOSwXuNcwvam which use the original hose replacing the chocolate plastic spigots.
Too late to buy aluminium I had to improvise with one of these...

From which I made this.

Salvaging the old flange for re use. The hardest part was locating the plastic flange in the four jaw to take off the old broken plastic spigots and bore for the new brass spigot.
I will fit and pressure test in the morning before re filling with coolant and doing the electric pump bleeding routine.
It only has to last for a week as a replacement hose and flange should be waiting for me when I return on the 16th.
Edit: The hose attachment end should have been longer but I will see if it works tomorrow.
Really nice work! How did you taper the ends?
Jesus looking at your work makes me feel less of a man![]()
I really like themToday I completed the last two of my clocks, my supply of pistons has come to a temporary end - the hunt continues. These are from a Ford of some sort, hence the short stroke.

It was also a test for my bench press, which performed well - no more heating and BFH to get the things apart and back together. I'm wishing I hadn't painted it though, as some of the paint is still 'sticky' when under pressure in storage.....I should have probably thinned it and sprayed it through my HVLP gun but conditions weren't ideal when I was at it. We live and learn.....well, sometimes we do!

I really like them...how do you stop the rod falling from side to side on the pin?
Soewhere here I have 3 sets removed from a mk6 transit, if they are any good to you, and I can find them, you are welcome to them..Today I completed the last two of my clocks, my supply of pistons has come to a temporary end - the hunt continues. These are from a Ford of some sort, hence the short stroke.

It is a bit different to cylinders I have seen. It has a shock absorber on the end (right in pic) but the rod itself only hits the shock absorber when it is almost fully up.
The seal itself which is the rod end is just a push fit in but it has a moulded ring on its outer circumference which locks into a groove in the cylinder body, the more pressure the more it will grip.

I don't have a pic of the seal itself but it looks just like the one in the pic below.

Here's he cat feeding station I made a few years back.Over the last week I have knocked up a bird house, specifically using only off cuts and odd stuff I have laying around.
Not a single bird has frequented the new establishment yet.........

You’ve got no grass in your garden for worms so they won’t be frequenting your garden naturally. Get a good mix of bird seen and fat balls on there they will soon discover it.Over the last week I have knocked up a bird house, specifically using only off cuts and odd stuff I have laying around.
