And much the same for me .

Finally got a bench sorted, it’s not ideal but it will do until a steel one falls ONTO the back of my lorry . Even managed a quick welding job for the lorry as well. Nowt interesting, just a couple of lengths of square box reinforced with rebar and the ends welded, but it was great to get the stick set out after what seems a very long time .

Possibly the ugliest spanner you have ever seen.

I was wondering how to stop a big nut from spinning on the outside while I was inside a tank. Inspiration came from my scrap pile, the old bracket needing just a few mm taking out with an angle grinder.

I like new laws, static gear flags will soon have to be marked with the vessels registration number so another 3 flag stencils made today

Also cut some Alu whilst I had the plasma shed open, it is a bait box that will be getting welded to a boat later in the week.

Been putting the new diy forge to use and trying some hot metalwork.

Finished assembling the trolley today, shelves are cut and tomorrow I'll give them a coat of PVA to seal them, then a quick coat of whatever paint I have in the cave. Still have to fit back the end caps to the rail ends.

Seriously though what sort.of person would keep welding at something like that when they must know that can't well, but then just leave it and not even grind it to try and hide the mess.

I thought I made a decent go of it. Do you not think the paint improved them?

I think that may be the case, I am certainly not great at painting and I don't think my painting did your welds justice

Your only mistake was not putting a second coat on. Really helps hide the slag holes I find.

If a second coat doesn't so the trick, I'd suggest you try spray concrete.
4 inches should cover it nicely

They should be fine, they are only clam poles so only hoisting a few tonnes of swinging dredges onto the boat

Just goes to show how good a process welding is, when this hasn't killed someone yet.
