Couldn't find a m36 nut in the right pitch so I made one...

Since my last brundle order Ive had 4.5m lengths of tube along the garage floor getting in the way! Today chopped them up 2.2m long so they can be stacked vertically and a few bits chopped for the garden bench.
Also some 1x1m steel sheet Im unlikely to need that big, do I cut them 500 or 330mm wide for easier storage?

The new norton disc I put on grinder is bent with a lot of wobble and probably would have shattered if I tried full speed.

This had to be sorted, it was taking up clean floor space.

But, as all kits, it is best to see if all the parts are there.



It was all there. Including the broken C/.sunk screw. It has had a hard life.
But it was caked in crud.



But it clean up well.

Hot water, washing powder and a scrubbing brush.

But I I made a mistake.
As well as the bent face plate for the quick release handle. The flat bar was twisted. So I straighten it.
This was to bite me on assembly.




In paint. This is etch primer, as it was the only primer I had on Sunday.




A bit of bling, 23 carrot gold leaf.
Hay, why not. Nowt good on TV and no beer.



In it's new home.
The missing jaw ended up being cracked into 4 bits.
I have a jaw on order for another vice, but I am waiting to see if the company will come through.

A quick and dirty grabber for an ROV to extend its reach. It has to fish a flat piece of bearing material out of a 4m deep tube. The manipulator won’t fit in there. They were messing about with that stupid scaffold tube till someone designed the nipper. They emailed a sketch, few hours later it was on board and bolted into the end of the tube which the ROV held like a handle. Apparently it worked first time
