thats a great picture , I will say the rabbits brought in were nt wasted, skinned and paunched and friday night stew. over the farm had one feral cat used to follow me around when out with the 12, untill I got a pidgeon , then he would take it of to his lair.

Got back to the workshop at 4pm today and decided to cut the bits for a hanging block I will be making. Had some 3mm 316 so onto the plasma with it. I would normally use 5mm but I didn't have any and the boat it is for is only 19ft so 3mm will be fine.
I had cut an extra front plate so that I could weld two together as that will be the weakest part. Once welded I bored out to 25mm on the Chiron and also bored out the back plate to 20mm. Whilst the Chiron was doing that I cut and faced off a piece of 3" Alu tube to act as a spacer for holding things true whilst welding.
Still have top and bottom plates to weld on and then make a pin, roller and swivel eye

Made my brother in law happy today helping him with his Willy's Jeep transfer box.
The castllated nut on the shaft wouldn't budge and he ripped the vice off his bench abusing it with a breaker bar!I've got a bigger vice and bench!

The original casing was cracked and badly welded in a couple of places so the green one above was bought to repair it.
He didn't bring the right socket with him so I had to modify a 33mm one on the lathe to fit in the yoke. Yes I know it should be an "American" size but it's all we had.View attachment 203930
Got the nut hot with the MAPP gas and gave it a rattling with the air wrench but it wouldn't budge so got it hotter and tried the breaker bar and it moved!!!
We then pressed the shaft out with my 12 ton press that I haven't used in over 2 years
Here's the other side.
We then stripped down the old one to keep some of the parts as it's an original MB Jeep so quite rare.
He was very happy and promised me beer in the near future!

kids are not going to be very happy with you when they realise you pinched the giant jenga to use as an anvil standI had a chance to cut the rest of my welding tabes legs cut, capped and fitted with M20 captive nuts.

When I moved here I brought with me a rescue cat from the town.
He went loopy at all the things he could exercise his claws on.
Every morning there were offerings left on the doorstep - kidneys, ears, heads, occasionally bits of gut and feet. Usually assemble-it-yourself rabbit kits, but a fair few times he'd go up and dismantle a hare or two. One time I stepped around the corner and he lifted his head from gorging himself on the innards of a furry thing. Like a scene from Hammer House of Horror.
One night he bit off more than he could chew and something really made a mess of him - probably a badger. He wasn't right for a good few months.
As well as being the bravest cat I've had he was also the stupidest by some margin.

Anvils are more important than jenga but I do need to pull a couple layers out as it’s a bit tall for me at the moment.

I do prefer also for esthetic reason a dead three carcass
A large diameter log,well cut and worked,a piece of flat stock around the log on the upper side with a bunch of hammer holders
Downside same thing but obviously just the flat stock .
Carved foot print to tight fit the anvil ,a chain around this one .
Something wonderful to see in my opinion
