My bench just about finished, took a bit longer than today though but there isn't a thread "Stuff you've made slowly".
(1) Bench on castors. (2) Legs down, bench up. (3) Drunk bench for easier leaning over. (4) The reason I need it to go low. (5) Cranking handle/drill. (6) Chop saw mounts/demounts on either end.

A very fine Wet stone.
In good condition, just a quick restoration.

Wrong.



One of the brackets holding the axil was broken. It is a old break. The give away/
Paint and rust in the crack.

So a clean up, "V" the crack and repair.



The bar and the bolt are there to hold the bracket in place as I Silver soldered it.



Back in place and the restoration will continue.

Watch this space.

No.
2 reasons.
It was full of water in the scrap yard and the outside was dry.

Then, as I was silver soldering the bracket Mine Me filled it with hot water and it was leak free.
Then over night we left it de-scaling it and it was dry as a bone.

Obviously its now full and I can't get in it.

A little bit more added to the hard standing behind the workshop. 5” deep with 3” of hardcore under it, having to do it in sections due to access and actual free time.

Home brew cantilever racking shall be added to the area, once I can get back in the shop for a couple of hours.



Added a “roof” to the chicken run, all home made, 10ft x 5ft panels with wind board at the bottom, covered in 1” square mesh.

Blends in with the rest of the garden quite well, and the chooks seem happy with it, or the 4 we have left are

Did a little cleaning of the pipe vice today and noticed this - it looks like there's about 3/16" of a bend in the base , or are they made like this? Judging by the underside bracing, it'd be pretty difficult to abuse it to that extent, wouldn't it?

I made some gears - for my gear hobber. the cutting head has options for high speed and low speed gearing but the low speed gears have been lost somewhere down the line. So I made some. Just got tot cut the keyways and they are done.

I was given a nice heavy base yesterday, think it might have been from some sort of outdoor furniture, anyway, cut the top off, insert a bit of tube I had which was just about the perfect size, weld on a nut, weld a bit of rod to the bolt and I now have an adjustable height vice stand on a reasonable base. Much easier than clamping it onto the bench.

Also made some pace in the garage then used an old tv stand that I had lying round to make a trailer trolley so I can finally get this trailer I'm fixing up moved around easily and worked on inside the garage.

Been asked to make a weather vane of a mounted Owain Glyndwr( the last welsh prince),so the customer supplied a template,here it is on a sheet of 2 mm,I’m adding some detail later to give it 3 d,then will add Owain and his sword to each side,followed by the bridle,his whole body,and a shield.the customer would like it galvanised,but that’s potentially risky with lap joints and pressure build ups,so will see what they recommend,could end up being Galvafroid.will post more as it progresses.
