just the weather is holding me up![]()
Will the parkside plasmas cut 1/2" alu?
Didn’t we have a forum member try this a few years back? He made some repairs to a bicycle if I remember correctly.im actually building something ive wanted to test for ages as ive got the chance to test it out to prove if im right and it will work

A bit argumentative I seem to recall!
There is an old welder's trick - welding a tin can with an electrode.Didn’t we have a forum member try this a few years back? He made some repairs to a bicycle if I remember correctly.

Ah, then I'd have to fix furnace! My casting so far has not been too successful yet. I will get back onto the projects soon..Not according to the blurb in the manual. First time I've opened it tbh:

I could print it and you could cast it?
Are we talking about near Farthing Corner services on the M2? If so details please! My brother made this axe. At a blacksmithing day down near Farthing Corner. He says himself that it's pretty rough and ready. Flat piece of mild steel bent and shaped to form the eye and blade and then a billet of high carbon steel forged in to form the cutting edge.

Every man and his dog doing these courses now.
@Windy Miller if you want to come up to me (other side of the dartford bridge) we have coke and gas forge, plus a power hammer and forging press.
I take it your brother isn't normally a very hands on type? Making a copper rose is as simple as having a pair of snips, some solder and some copper sheet. I'd have never thought people would pay money to go on a course for such simple metalwork. My brother is a semi retired barrister. He's done a silversmithing course, copper rose making etc. There is clearly a market.
Regardless of the relatives mentioned; There are quite a lot of people whose hands are “sewn to their butts.”I take it your brother isn't normally a very hands on type? Old trick where I once worked was to put an unlit oxy acet torch in a coke tin, along with a welding rod connected up, but not turned on. Wait for an unsuspecting victim to turn up - wang the welder up and watch said victim pee his/her pants.... saw it happen. There is an old welder's trick - welding a tin can with an electrode.
