A drive gate,or rather track gate,as the house access is across a field and as it’s high up and exposed,he didn’t want close bars that would encourage snow building against it.
I made it 10 mm out of square to allow for sag,which was guesswork,luckily it hangs without sag.

Thats lovely Nick. How do you figure out and drill the holes for the horizontal bars? I always struggle with doing those neatly.

Tack on a temporary plate(20mm),to give the magnetic drill grip,need a long series cutter. Plus use bits of square ,30 ,in this case,about 30 long to act as a guide.

A bit of wood bothering today, made a radiator cover from all the off cuts and some reclaimed MDF, even the hinges are reclaimed from a door, just needs a paint now.

I was given some 6mm plate a while back the has now become the back of my welding bench, due to the shape of my garage i ended up with a 125mm gap so this will stop tools and crud falling down the back.

DCMT shape in a sducr or sdqcr bar is a good choice insert for it.

Thanks, I’ll give that a go when I’ve saved up some pocket money. I usually resort to HSS for a finishing cut when I’m having problems.

Today I made a replacement gear for the blue biax scrapers. The original fiber gears are unobtanium and no-one seems to make the replacements so I had to have a go myself.

It was a bit of a challenge because my hobber is designed only to produce spur gears (straight teeth) but I managed to get it to turn out a working gear, if slightly less than perfect.

A couple more layers of Raptor 2K polyurethane coating, and the industrial vacuum cleaner tanks will be protected. Application with a foam roller. I mix 133 grams at a time, in order to have time to apply, until the moment of gelling.

I'm waiting for some Delrin to turn up as I had to turn that 27mm gear out of a 60mm slug. When it does I'll make one for you.
