Evening all. Just thought I was start a thread going about stuff we make and have made today. I made some mud guard brackets for a lorry. Not finished yet as got another two that need doing.
Third picture down. That looks a tidy bit of kit.1.2mm stainless from the look of it. Need to make a valence similar to the black one. marked out with sharpie line followed by a scribe.
Need to leave about 2mm for the fold and chop a bit extra out of the corners so they don't foul when folded.
Oh and you got to get it right first time. eek.
My knife isn't long enough to form it in one go so I do the middle a bit, then gradually bring in the ends etc.
Worked a treat.
Nice clean bends and the press tool allows me to remove all the fingers except one that fits the channel for the last bend.
It's for a neighbour and he tells me it fits a treat.
Sometimes good fabrication work going on there. I have a complete tailgate to fab for my lorry.Been making some steel doors out of 50mm box and 2mm steel plate to replace completely mashed ali ones on the back of our tipping trailer ,facing and bolting 6mm steel plate on the rear of tipper so we can weld on steel hinges and make it all a bit more telehandler/excavator proof.
Not a bad bit of penetration , its not my welding its Mick my welders.
I have just been looking for one. And found a large sweeney blockside fly press not far away from where I am.been standing for a while but in good working order. And a good price. A little trip out for me tomorrow.Norton 6DB, deep back Flypress with a mountain of tooling. I must have several of those folding knives and a ton of interesting looking presses and dies. I really ought to get around to sorting it....
@spencer 427 I have to ask, what is the sextant looking thing in the box?
