EV's with the diesel night-heater optionHopefully not complicated by any stationary EV with depleted batteries as the occupants tried to keep warm...a near term feature of winter traffic delays coming to a road near you soon.
3 hours now!
Moved 1.5 miles in that time!
I think it's the protracted on-site investigation & inquest they do after any fatal "incident" (note incident not "accident" - semantics as you can apply blame and penalty upon incidents, where an accident is a random event). It must be bad, I've even seen ladies going for a slash in the bushes!
I don't know why it takes so long to clear an accident these days.

It is an absolute joke. They treat it like a crime scene even when it is patently obvious what happened. If they are cutting people out of cars and treating them at the roadside fair enough but otherwise getting the traffic flowing should be the main priority.2 hours! I've been here over 3 now.
Unless it's strewn all over the road I can't see why they can't open a lane up rather than have to keep people suffering here for so long. More bureaucracy
It isn't the rescue attempts that cause the delays. It is treating the whole place like a murder scene that causes the problem. Even if the cause is obvious.Be grateful you are not stuck in a potentially crushed car. Or dead

And yet I got stuck for about an hour due to a collision between 2 cars and 8 ambulances turned upMy son is a Fireman. From what he is telling me you really dont want to be in a situation where you need an Ambulance. He attended a RTC yesterday and was informed the Ambulance would be 8hrs

Sending 8 ambulances to 2 cars is rather a waste when they are in such short supply.I'm confident if you were in the collision you would be happy to have an attendance.
Or would you refuse any help because "open the motorway"
