Picked up this stubby kit for a 17/18/26 torch.
Uses 2 unique parts,collet body and gas insulator,which then let you use a 9 size cup and collet(not sure whether collet is custom or a standard 9,must check numbers)
5 of each collet,collet body and insulator for about £11.50 id call that a lifetime supply.

That's quite good size 18 heat capabilities with 9 size ergonomics. Like it.

Would it not be better with a proper Gas Lens, say 45v26 with a 53N14 ceramic.Think about the gas flow

When stuff that you do isnt sitting at a table,you need to prop a finger on the piece.e.g. your hand is gun shaped,3 fingers around handle and first sticking out against plate/pipe.
a 26 torch with full size kit sometimes your finger isnt long enough to prop properly.this should help that.

Sorry ,you would need a spacer 54N01,this would stop the end of the ceramc from breaking off due to the expansion of the Gas Lens

Shortening is the goal,gas coverage is sufficient for what i do

If nothing else mate I like it. It gives guys another option if they have not got the funds to get a cooler and WC torch but want to weld over 125 amps (gas cooled wp9 limit) then this is a nice solution on the cheap. Gas coverage I personally don't think will be a problem at all. Remember you only need a very low flow rate for Tig 4-6 LPM is fine in most cases. Wmj some clearer pics of it would be good.

top job- 1xcollet,1x collet body 1 x insulator and 1x cup for my WP26 cost me about 20 euros - admittedly I did not shop around-Iwas in the shop thinking to buy a smaller size torch and we came up with the same solution.
Deffo have to research that, nice one.

I cannot get on with a 26 at all. I've had a couple machines supplied with em for some crazy reason. I just flog em for what I can get.

How long did delivery take, from China?

shop river always post next working day.it normally takes 10-14 days,but very rarely it can be 3 weeks.the bigger orders are the ones that can be delayed.

Only if its mega urgent and im stuck will i use local suppliers for torch parts,tungstens aside.they dont make much on them but you still get shafted

Had a look on shop river ebay but being new to tig i have no idea what exactly i am looking for could you link to the items ? or the part numbers
