Stub Axle Carriers

Thought i'd post up some of the stuff I get up to, as it's been a while, since I've started a post in this section.

These are Stub Axles, for whatever you want them for I suppose. I've used them on Trikes, and a Locost car.

All the parts are laser cut, I then Blast the lot to remove the mill scale.

The Tacked up and ready for the welding positioner

A spin around and it ready for facing off

Faced off and ready for jigging up with the other parts

In the jig and tacking up and then welding

very neat, what sort of drive shaft and bearing carrier do you use with that then ? ford ? how does the brake caliper fix to it ?

Yup Ford Sierra, but others will fit. These haven't been drilled out for the Caliper mount yet

Better view of how the hub is fixed the carrier. The holes are transferred from the hub to the carrier drilled and taped to suit.

I've also know people to cut the ford bracket off and weld on mounts for a Motorcycle caliper, looks really clean, and better when fitted to a trike

If you are on about the weld using the positioner, a monkey could do that once set

I take the complement as it was meant though

does that end up like a radial caliper mount when you lop the old ford one off?

The type of Caliper will dictate what type of mount is required, so you can fit radial or perpendicular mounts
