Hi everyone, looking for some advice on reducing a hole in roof of a van...
I have a high top Renault TrafIc which has an unusual vent size in the roof (50 x 35), replacement vents are standardised at 40 x 40, and 50 x 50. Because of the placement I can't increase the size, so am wondering if it's possible to reduce the hole size down to 40 x 40 by welding?
As the hole will need to support the weight of the new vent that will be opened and closed regularly, would a welded solution be structurally sound? Internal cross beams could in theory also be added if sheet metal is not enough.
Thanks
