Stripped thread advice please..

I shall take it apart in the morning and get a better picture of what we have so to speak...

One issue which worries me a bit is drilling it out as i’ve only a pillar drill which goes to 13mm unless i can get a 13mm bit with a 16mm drill head..? but i doubt the accuracy will be great..

Might be better if i pay one of you guys to make it and i send you the components to work off..

Reduced shank drills are as common as muck. Good quality ones are pricey (Cromwell and the like) but you'll not need that good a product for that one off job. Perhaps give Zoro a look? I picked up a little boxed set that go from 14mm upto 19mm (all with a 13mm shank) for less than £20 a few years ago. The biggest I have is 28mm and I think I paid about £10 for it off the bay of evil.

From your photo, as Brad says, that looks more like 19mm for ten PEAKS of the thread. If it is 20 mm, and you have a welder, then you could buy two M14 x 2.0 left hand nuts, wind them one on to the shaft, put the shaft through the stripped block and then wind the other nut onto the shaft, trapping the stripped part between the two nuts. Do not do them tight, just a slight movement. Then weld a strap of metal between the two nuts to hold them together.

The second nut could reduce the max blade height a bit i guess but i can live with that tbh.. or once it’s welded together i might cut half the nut off at the top which will allow a little more travel ...
