The most common MIG wire is equivalent to 70xx rods. Arc has 60xx that are not as strong but has 80xx and higher strength rods. There are high-strength MIG wires too, but are rare. Usually where high strength is needed, or specialty welding (surface hardening) arc is used as the rods are cheaper and much more readily available.
I do wish MIG had a 60xx equivalent, would be easier to grind down.
The biggest factor is if it is prepped and done properly.
