Strange vice

Odd vice with bolt holes in both halves that would fix it in place with no movement, anyone know what it's for ?

Would've thought it was something for the drill or mill table. Clamp the workpiece, then align and secure to the T-slot bolts. A bit inconvenient, but very secure and stable.

It's a smorgasborg of holes.
You only use the ones you need.

The parts swivel, do it can be mounted vertical or horizontal.
You choose to have front or rear jaws moving.
Very similar to vices the Italian armed forces used post WW2.
