Just got this ww die set from @Seadog
We're not sure what the blue bit on the RHS is for.
If you unscrew the 2 halves of the diestock the blue thing screws in, giving you a die mounted in a holder with a square tapered tang on it.
It fits perfectly in a hand brace which could be useful in a tight spot, using the ratchet on the brace to turn it a partial turn. Another thought is that its for machine threading.
Any thoughts from the knowledgeable folk on here?

after a bit of measuring we worked out the cellar was about 10 feet shorter than the pattern shop above and we'd been drilling into dirt 


i dont use the dies there a pain in the ass. i just got a load of second hand split dies and replaced them
