Hi,
I have a length of aluminium round tube that has a slight bend in it, presumably from some type of impact in its past? The tube has threaded inserts at both ends that are used as fixings. Due to the slight bend in the tube, one of the fixing points is out of alignment with the end of the tube.
Would anyone please be able to advise me how to get the tube straightened? It does not have to be perfectly straight, just reasonably straight to allow the tube to be fixed at both ends without any strain. In use, there is no significant load bearing on the tube, it is for anchorage location rather than load.
I have tried using a Record No. 23 vice on the slight bend but it just springs back bent when releasing it. My other thought was to use a ring roller or pipe bender to reverse out the slight bend. However, I would need to buy one and not know if it would work.
The tube dimensions are 980mm long x 19mm O/D x 2mm wall thickness.
Thanks
