It’ll go in a four jaw and a boring bar will make it dead on, it’s an easy and dead accurate method which is hard to beat - nor will it take long.


A mag drill is quite capable of enlarging, making round, making oval etc jobs despite not having any kind of guide for the cutter.
You just need a drill that’s not got badly worn ways, sensible pressure and a good few mm of magnetic material to clamp to.

Pulls you out of trouble often.

Excellent job. Nicely done.
Was good to see the little Myford put to use.
Little tip. When doing any boring out just have the bar protruding the holder enough to get from a to b. You can get flex in the bar. On your final cut don’t take a cut depth just run it back through at the previous cut set and you’ll find it still takes a cut because it’s being relieved

Shhhh. That was the first thing I made on that lathe(on any lathe). Quick and dirty. Needed a tool post to make my next tool post. Balsed up.the collet on the mk 2 and continued using the above.

Facing that off on the mk1 was fun. So was milling the slots.

It's almost spot on. Just got to mill a couple of mm off the bottom.

I did it with a hand drill.it was only a fraction out but over the thickness of the tool post holder ended up being a lot
