Straighten steel plate woodburner

Mine bent and kept falling out.


Took it to the industrial estate around the corner, and a young lad got it on the hydraulic press for me. This was a few years back, and its not fallen out since.

Is that the baffle plate that sits above the fire? I once knocked ours down by accident and the fire burned like crazy. Thought I was gonna set light to the chimney!!

My thought too. Remade 4 over years. Last one's 1/4 chequer plate and lasting well.

I also tried to straighten ours with a press, but couldn't. It had also sagged in the middle.

Like Carter13, I got a piece of 6mm plate, scored and bent, then welded up. Has been fine since.
