Straight line cutting jig for PT-31 Torch

Hi all,

I have a plasma cutter here similar to the CUT 40 and it has the PT-31 torch.

I was just wondering if anyone has made up a straight line cutting jig to suit, wouldn't mind seeing what you have come up with.

I used a piece of angle iron the other day and slid the torch against it, but it wasn't really the most ideal situation.

That is basically what I use. I do find the longer tips are easier.

Mine has the drag-type tips that make it easy. I made a collar for the regular tips that basically was a piece of brass round stock drilled so the electrode fit over it then some notches in the end. That held the tip up at 1/16" and made it easier to follow a guide.

Just don't use your nice aluminum ruler. Mine now has a nice notch in edge

Thats basically all i use, but I find a piece of flat is easier.

Yep, a piece of strip is all it takes, it can be a good idea to lightly clamp it down.Leaves a lovely edge with a little practice.
