Thanks to @gaz1 for identifying this thing, I decided to bite the bullet and pick it up despite it having been stood outside for a couple of years.
Tied it to a sack barrow and dragged it home.
It has some water damage, this is the worst of it.
But it is robustly made from 1/4" (?) plate and the rust is superficial. I can only hope the fire brick has survived weathering. Should dry out lovely in this weather but might crumble to dust under fire.
The door and latch still works but is so stiff it feels like it's been thread locked. Let's hope that's not the case...
Well it's not a sticker. Somebody is proud of their product.
In the daylight, it does look pretty damned useable. Some obvious issues aside like the rust and fire brick, I thinks it's a great candidate for restoration. I need to consider it's value so that I can afford to spend some time and effort on it in case it needs to pay me back.
I am tempted to stick it in the shed tho. It is certainly better than anything I might make, just from the safety standpoint. Calor bottle stoves are all well and good but to get them dead right regarding efficiency and exhaust flow is a neat trick if you can pull it off, plus I like the big window!
Might not be right now because I have a few other bits and bobs to get on with but this thing is also an ideal candidate for a YouTube restoration.
I fear my days here posting content heavy threads may be numbered, watch this space (or that one).
